Preventive Healthcare & Public Health Intelligence

India’s healthcare ecosystem is witnessing rapid transformation; however, the country continues to face major challenges related to preventive healthcare, disease surveillance, public health governance, and early health intervention. A large portion of the population still seeks medical attention only after diseases become severe, resulting in increased healthcare costs, hospital burden, delayed treatment, and avoidable mortality. Simultaneously, public health systems often operate reactively due to fragmented health data, lack of predictive intelligence, delayed reporting mechanisms, and limited integration between healthcare providers, community health workers, laboratories, and governance systems. The growing prevalence of lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disorders, mental health issues, malnutrition, and communicable diseases demands a shift from treatment-oriented healthcare to preventive and predictive healthcare ecosystems. Rural and underserved populations continue to face limited access to health awareness, screening facilities, health monitoring systems, and timely medical consultation. Furthermore, disease outbreaks, epidemic management, vaccination tracking, environmental health monitoring, and healthcare resource planning require real-time public health intelligence and data-driven governance mechanisms.

Reimagining Agriculture Through AI, Sustainability & Rural Innovation

📌 Background Agriculture remains the backbone of India’s economy, supporting the livelihood of more than half of the country’s population. However, the sector is currently facing multiple interconnected challenges such as climate change, declining soil fertility, fragmented supply chains, water scarcity, low farmer income, lack of real-time market intelligence, post-harvest losses, and decreasing youth participation in farming. At the same time, emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics, Drones, Blockchain, Satellite Analytics, Data Science, and Smart Automation have the potential to transform traditional agriculture into a data-driven, intelligent, sustainable, and profitable ecosystem. India urgently needs scalable, affordable, and inclusive innovations that can empower farmers, strengthen rural economies, improve sustainability, and make agriculture attractive to the next generation. 🎯 Grand Challenge How can technology make agriculture intelligent, profitable, climate-resilient, youth-driven, and economically sustainable for the future of India? Participants are invited to design innovative technology solutions that can solve real-world agricultural challenges and create measurable social, economic, and environmental impact.

Securing the Livestock Economy

As state administrators, we recognize that livestock husbandry is not merely an allied agricultural sector; it is the vital, everyday financial safety net—the "living bank account"—of millions of rural households. However, this critical economic engine is currently threatened by systemic inefficiencies, climate vulnerabilities, and severe informational asymmetries. Despite the state’s massive investments, we continue to grapple with milk yields that lag behind global benchmarks, rampant quality inconsistencies, and lack of supply chain traceability that erodes consumer confidence. Compounding these productivity losses is a highly vulnerable risk-mitigation framework, where low insurance penetration, verification bottlenecks, and fraudulent claims delay essential financial relief to grieving farmers. Simultaneously, the accelerating climate crisis manifests as severe heat stress and water scarcity, drastically suppressing livestock fertility and daily yields, while fragmented, non-transparent local marketplaces leave farmers vulnerable to middleman exploitation during livestock trade. To bridge these critical operational gaps, the State Department of Animal Resources is issuing an urgent call-to-action to the brightest UG and PG technical minds of our universities. We challenge you to construct robust, interoperable "GovTech" solutions that will democratize livestock operations and safeguard rural livelihoods. Your mission is to build integrated digital systems that utilize AI-driven predictive modeling to monitor dairy yield and detect adulteration in real time, establish tamper-proof biometric identification systems (such as muzzle print pattern matching) to eliminate insurance fraud, and engineer climate-smart early warning dashboards that prescribe preventive shelter and water-management interventions. Furthermore, we need decentralized marketplace platforms that empower farmers with transparent price discovery, predictive logistics, and direct trader-to-farmer connectivity. The solutions generated in this hackathon must not exist in a vacuum; they must be scalable, intuitive for semi-literate rural end-users, and ready to be integrated into our state administrative databases to drive a tech-led livestock revolution.

Career Awareness & Future Skills Readiness Innovation Challenge

India is currently experiencing a significant transformation in its education and employment ecosystem driven by rapid technological advancements, artificial intelligence, automation, startup culture, and emerging industry requirements. While the country possesses one of the world’s largest youth populations, a substantial gap continues to exist between school education and future employability preparedness. A large number of students complete their schooling without adequate awareness regarding career pathways, aptitude alignment, emerging technologies, entrepreneurship opportunities, and the skills required for future professions. This disconnect often results in poor career choices, lack of motivation, low employability, increased academic stress, and underutilization of human potential. In the present education ecosystem, career guidance and future skill exposure are mostly concentrated at higher education levels, whereas foundational awareness and aptitude development during school education remain largely neglected, particularly in rural and underserved regions. Students frequently lack access to structured career counselling, industry exposure, innovation ecosystems, digital skill awareness, and mentorship opportunities that can help them identify their interests and capabilities from an early stage. Simultaneously, schools and educational administrators often operate without intelligent systems capable of mapping student aptitude, behavioural trends, emerging industry requirements, and future career opportunities in a dynamic manner.
